Redefining Success for Working Moms
Through Joy, Not Perfection

Thriving Looks
Different Every Day

(And Sometimes It’s Frozen Pizza and Cuddles)

Let’s just be honest — thriving as a mom doesn’t always look like a spotless house, perfectly balanced meals, or checking every task off your endless to-do list.

Some days, thriving is a beautifully packed school lunch, a productive work meeting, and a quiet moment to yourself during nap time.
Other days, it’s collapsing on the couch at 6 p.m. with frozen pizza, mismatched pajamas, and letting the kids watch one more episode because you need the break more than they do.

And guess what? Both days count.

Thriving Isn't One-Size-Fits-All — Especially for Moms

For a long time, I equated “thriving” with “achieving” — a full planner, a clean kitchen, polite kids, a balanced life, and a smiling selfie to prove it. But that belief started to crack the moment I realized that chasing perfection was not only unrealistic — it was exhausting.

If you’re a working mom or a teacher-mom, you know the balance beam well. Some days you glide across it. Other days you’re wobbling under the weight of school emails, grocery lists, and your toddler’s tantrum about the wrong color cup.

Here’s the truth: Thriving isn’t about appearances. It’s about alignment — with your values, your energy, and your reality.

A New Definition
of Success:
Joy Over Hustle

What if we redefined success?
Not as how much we did — but how we felt?

Then mama, you’re thriving.

Let’s stop glorifying burnout and start celebrating balance.
Let’s value grace over guilt, connection over control, and rest over rushing.

That is what the
Mommy Mindset is all about.

Did you show up — even if it wasn’t at 100%?

Sometimes Thriving Means Frozen Pizza

This article was born on a night when I had the best intentions — meal prep, homework help, and a peaceful bedtime routine.

But after a full day of teaching and juggling everything else,
I was out of energy.

So I reached for the frozen pizza, curled up with my kids, and watched nostalgic cartoons in our favorite cozy blankets.

And it was wonderful.

I didn’t fail. I adapted.

Permission to Let Go

If no one has told you today, it’s okay:

To not be everything to everyone

To lower the bar when life feels heavy

To make space for joy in the ordinary

Motherhood isn’t a performance.
It’s a relationship.
It’s messy and loud and sometimes sticky with peanut butter
—but it’s beautiful in its imperfection.

Tools that support rest, comfort, and sanity

So here’s to all the mamas doing their best —on the days with color-coded calendars and on the days when thriving means cereal for dinner and early bedtime. Success isn’t about doing it all. It’s about knowing what matters most and letting that guide your day.
